A Night of Gratitude & Celebration

Durham Nativity School's annual spring event returned this year as "An Evening of Gratitude" at the Durham Exchange at ReCity. The event served as a joyous homecoming, bringing together esteemed past and present board members, dedicated alumni, generous donors, and valued community partners. The evening was a celebration of our school's enduring impact and the bright futures of our students.

Head of School Tiffany Alrefae delivered heartfelt remarks expressing gratitude for the unwavering support that fuels Durham Nativity's mission. However, the true highlight of the evening was a captivating performance by current students.

Their talent and enthusiasm served as a powerful reminder that Durham Nativity School remains steadfastly committed to our young men and core mission: empowering and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

We invite you to join us at our next community event and experience firsthand the transformative power of Durham Nativity School.

In Memoriam

This spring marked the passing of two early and longtime champions of Durham Nativity School. Both, William “Terry” Kane MD and Dan Hill, were close friends of Dr. Joseph Moylan, Durham Nativity School’s founder. They deeply believed in the need for a school that provided access and opportunity for underserved children of Durham. Those formative years with Dr. Moylan led to over 20 years of friendship, financial support, service, and community connections.

Hill guided the school’s mission as a board member and mentored our students from boyhood to adulthood and up until his passing. Dr. Kane's passion for science and technology fueled his enthusiastic support of our STEM initiatives. Through Hill and Kane’s efforts, we forged valuable connections with Duke University and other community programs, enriching the educational experience for our students.

We will miss them dearly and we are humbled by the abundance of gifts that we have received in their honor. Their legacy will reverberate through our halllways, students, and alumni for years to come.
